Full-time User Experience Architect: Mid/ Sen Level – London – £50,000/ £65,000 p.a. + Benefits

at Digital Agency/ Consultancy in London


A rapidly expanding digital agency/ consultancy that has continued to go from strength to strength is actively seeking a UX Architect to assist on highly strategic projects where design or development of products and services may be delivered across all channels, in particular: web/ mobile/ tablets/ digital/ tv, et al.

Role:

To plan and design user experiences across digital devices (main focus currently online media), but taking into consideration the broader customer journey and communication mix.

Responsibilities:

• User Experience Design – adept at applying user centred design principles to create usable solutions to complex problems.
• Experience Planning – able to draw on a wide range of techniques such as landscape mapping and competitive review, persona development, user journey modelling, concept modelling and navigation strategy.
• Design Prototyping – can initiate and iterate a design process from low to medium fidelity using sketching, paper, whiteboard and interactive tools such as Axure, Visio or Omnigraffle. Can work collaboratively, or draw on best practise, depending on client need.
• Research – while a Senior UXA will be supported by the Clients Research team in execution they should be comfortable with an able to play a crossover role in some other research techniques including affinity grouping, card sorting, and planning and moderating usability tests. You should be confident talking to end users.
• Capability Development – contribute to the development of the company’s tool and techniques.

Taking Strategy into Delivery:

• Understand in detail the strategic context and play a key role in planning and delivery of projects.
• Can clearly articulate the benefits of UX to Co Clients within the context of its business strategy.
• Collaborate with other senior colleagues to plan a suitable approach around project objectives and constraints from the outset, dependant on variables such as company culture or access to key personnel.
• Undestand risk, project planning, prioritisation and dependancies.
• Play a key role in meetings with Clients, other agencies and stakeholders.
• Can adapt approach to problem solving when presented with unforeseen barriers on a project road map.

Working with Clients, Stakeholders, and Colleagues:

• Gain credibility and trust from clients by displaying behaviours in all interactions.
• Leadership – you are able to assume ‘go to’ role for assigned clients, dealing with ad-hoc queries via email or telephone.
• Practised Consultancy & Communication Skills – Including polished presentation and documentation skills, interviewing and workshop facilitation for stakeholders and project team members.
• Commercial Awareness – able to identify opportunities with existing clients for approaches or services which may help the client’s business goals.
• Mentoring – can mentor and support more junior team members projects.
• Adapting approach to different needs – should be able to adapt to differing roles (e.g. technical, creative, and clients), and at different levels of seniority.

Skills:

• Should have at least 5 years experience, 2 years of which should be at a mid to senior level.
• Understanding of process. UCD agile/ rapid iterative prototyping.
• Experienced at working across the whole spectrum of UX engagement on medium to large projects, from planning through to final handover of deliverables.
• Client facing experience
• At least mid-level experience as a User Experience Architect in a digital agency with a strong UX bias.
• Commercial sector experience essential. Agency or consultancy experience preferred.
• Desirable – Travel and/ or Financial Sector client experience e.g. banking, insurance and investments ideal but not essential.
